Car repair costs in the NYC metro area are among the highest in the country. Labor rates at certified collision shops typically run $120–$175/hour, and parts prices vary significantly between vehicle makes and models.
This estimator uses NYC metro area baseline rates for common repair types and adjusts for your vehicle category. Luxury and European vehicles often cost 1.5–2x more than economy vehicles for the same damage due to specialty parts and required dealer diagnostics.
If the other driver was at fault, their property damage liability (PDL) insurance should cover your repair costs. If you have collision coverage, your own insurer can pay first (minus your deductible) and then subrogate against the at-fault party.
